Uses the AS-2518-81 “Squawk and Talk” sound board.
Reportedly, there is a printing error in the manual: setting 28 in the manual is actually setting 27 in the game itself.
Gameplay in Bally’s Eight Ball Champ centers on fast, skill-based shooting that mimics a game of pool, with players using three flippers to knock down numbered drop targets representing billiard balls, strategically building toward the ultimate goal of sinking the 8-ball for high scores; the open playfield encourages controlled shots and quick reactions, while advancing through the balls increases scoring opportunities, making accuracy, timing, and shot planning far more important than luck.
