Silent Scope Arcade Game
Silent Scope is a unique arcade game. It has a small screen inside of the rifle sight that you look through and it shows you a magnified picture. You look for your target through the scope and shoot. It gives you the feeling you are shooting the bad guys at a distance. It has a larger screen in the back of the game that shows the entire scene. This game was made by Konami in 1999. The screen on the main unit can be upgraded to a 27″ LCD for $350 extra. The game is fairly large, but it does come apart to make moving it easier.

Description
A shooting game where you battle terrorists and rescue hostages.
Game Introduction
Using a mounted sniper-rifle peripheral, you can see targets up close and personal through the scope, or view them from a great distance on the arcade monitor. Taking out the enemies is tricky business, however. If you wait too long, you will be spotted and draw fire. If you are careless with your aim and miss, they will home in on your position. You will also have to monitor your ammunition carefully or you will be gunned down while reloading your rifle.
Game Play
The game has three modes of play: Target Practice, Time Attack, and Story. Target Practice lets you practice your sniper skills; Time Attack challenges you to clear several stages with a fast time and a high accuracy rating; Story mode has a variety of intense missions. You will pick-off terrorists while perched atop a skyscraper, take down a thug who is carrying a hostage down a football field, hit moving targets while speeding down the highway, and even don a pair of night-vision goggles as you are dropped by parachute into an enemy compound.
Each mission has a tough boss enemy that requires a great deal of skill to take down. Your life meter will go down each time you are hit or accidentally kill an innocent by-stander. You can restore lost health by being a voyeur and sighting “interesting” side events.
Cheats, Tricks, Bugs, and Easter Eggs
- Professional Challenges: The aiming ring and enemy locating markers will not appear on the main screen. After inserting coin(s), squeeze and hold the Trigger and push Start. While holding the Trigger, guide your aiming ring onto the mode of your choice, and press the Start button four times.
- Night Vision Challenges: All stages will be in the dark. After inserting coin(s), squeeze and hold the Trigger and push Start. While holding the Trigger, guide your aiming ring onto the mode of your of your choice, and press the Start button five times.
- Professional Night Vision Challenges: All stages will be in the dark, with no aiming ring and enemy locating markers appearing on the main screen. After inserting coin(s), squeeze and hold the Trigger and push Start. While holding the Trigger, guide your aiming ring onto the mode of your choice, and press the START button six times.
NOTE: When you enter a secret challenge mode correctly, you will hear a second gun shot fire.
