More Information
A futuristic driving game that takes place in San Francisco.
This was the final arcade game to bare the Atari Games logo as Midway would later rename the company to Midway Games West in 1999.
This game also featured a Code Input feature to save player records by entering a player created code (such as their phone number) via a special button pad similar to that of a touch tone telephone button layout. This feature would later be implemented on other future racing games.
It was reworked into a Tournament Edition that featured online play until Midway closed it’s online play service and ceased arcade game production in 2003 to focus on home entertainment titles. The Tournament edition would later be re-released without the online play feature as a Special Edition, distributed by Betson Enterprises with Midway’s blessing, and contained all tracks and cars from the previous two editions in 2003.
